Captain Christina

Hello, my name is Christina and I’m the crazy chicken lady behind the instagram account Linguinibeans.

Right now I have 15 re-homed/ adopted hens.  I started off with 6 leghorns that I took as chicks from someone who could no longer keep them. The next hen to join the flock was Henrietta and shortly after came Diesel. Both were found abandoned on the streets and neither were claimed by anyone. Diesel was a few hours away but after some convincing, my husband agreed to take the drive with me. She was very small when we got her, pretty skinny too.

Fast forward to December 2021, someone reached out asking if I could take in a flock of hens from a family member who unfortunately had to re-home them but wanted them all to stay together. How could I say no?  My plan going forward is to continue adopting and re-homing as many as I can. I am fortunate to have connected with so many other chicken people on social media. I have learned a lot from other people’s experiences and share my own to maybe help others.

Instagram is also how I found Coohgrubs. My girls were going through a heavy molt during the winter and Coohgrubs was a good high protein snack for them that they all absolutely love. All I have to do is shake the bag and they all come running!
